Diane Bell

New England is beautiful and the ever changing landscape offers unlimited inspiration for me along with lots of challenges associated with the medium. I have painted watercolors for many years on and off, but since retiring a few years ago, I paint nearly every day. It's all about the process, not the results. A recent watercolor instructor stressed being willing to stay in the moment. I try to do that giving myself a chance to learn about color, placement, balance and all the rest to achieve a good painting. It doesn't always happen, but these challenges get me up in the morning and keep the creative juices flowing all day long. I primarily work from my own digital photos. My paintings are an interpretation of the places I visit...
