Description
Take your pick! Either way, this young muskrat was spotted munching down 'greens' one late summer evening (7/24/09) in the canal on the Towpath Trail at Wildwood Lake in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Muskrats are a medium-sized semi-aquatic rodent native to North America that are commonly found in wetlands, areas in or near salt and fresh-water marshlands, rivers, lakes or ponds. They are most active at night or near dawn and dusk and they feed mainly on aquatic vegetation such as cattails. Sony DSC-H7, f/4.5, exp. 1/60 sec, ISO 400, 78 mm, flash did not fire
