Cape Arago on the Oregon Coast. Hiked down to the rock shelf at mid-tide while my wife stood watch to help me dodge incoming waves periodically. Positioned to try and mirror the shape of the clouds in the exposed tide pool and to catch the sky color in the tide pool reflection as well. If you look carefully you can see green sea anemones in the tide pool.

Grew up in the small town of Bandon, Oregon near some of the most amazing sections of coastline in the USA. Started taking pictures as a boy and my parents encouraged me. They helped me buy a Pentax SLR, and later an Olympus SLR and a Vivitar Enlarger in high school. My parents eventually tired of the smell of developer, stop-bath, and fixer in the house (how many remember those smells?) and my dad taught me how to build as we constructed a separate darkroom building, complete with hot and cold running water.
